ADHD assessment FAQs
How does the online assessment work?
Our ADHD assessments take place online through a secure video consultation. Once you book your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details. During the session, a qualified clinician will ask about your symptoms, history, and daily experiences. The process is designed to be calm, supportive, and focused on understanding you or your child’s needs. After the appointment, you will receive a detailed report with findings and recommendations.
Who conducts the assessment?
All assessments are carried out by qualified clinicians with experience in diagnosing ADHD. Our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and specialists who follow recognised clinical guidelines. Each assessment is evidence based and designed to provide a clear and accurate understanding of ADHD.
What does it cost?
The cost of an ADHD assessment varies depending on whether it is for an adult or a child. We aim to keep our pricing transparent and competitive while ensuring a high standard of clinical care. Full details of current prices are available when booking, and you can contact us if you have any questions before confirming your appointment.
How long does it take?
Most assessments last between 90 minutes and two hours. This allows enough time for a detailed discussion about your experiences, background, and any relevant information from teachers, parents, or other professionals. After the assessment, your report is usually delivered within a few days.
Is medication included?
Medication is not automatically included as part of the assessment. If a diagnosis is confirmed, your clinician will explain treatment options, which may include medication, therapy, or coaching. If you wish to begin medication, we can refer you to a prescribing specialist who will discuss the subject with you in more detail.
Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral from your GP to book an assessment with UK ADHD. Many people come directly to us after noticing symptoms or concerns about attention, focus, or behaviour. If you prefer, you can still share your results with your GP or another healthcare professional after your assessment.
Is it confidential?
Yes. All UK ADHD assessments are completely confidential. Your information is stored securely and handled in accordance with data protection laws. We only share your details with your consent, such as when you request communication with a GP, school, or employer.
What happens after diagnosis?
If you receive an ADHD diagnosis, we provide a detailed written report that explains your results and outlines recommended next steps. This may include treatment options, lifestyle strategies, and referrals for further support. Many clients choose to continue with coaching, therapy, or medication under medical guidance. We also offer follow-up appointments to ensure you have the support you need moving forward.
Understanding ADHD is the first step toward improving focus, confidence, and quality of life.
